Maine CDC reports 283 new COVID-19 cases; more than 20% of Mainers fully vaccinated

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting 283 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday and no new deaths.

The number of Mainers with COVID-19 who have died remains at 744.

The 283 new cases bring the total since the beginning of the outbreak to 50,787. It’s the most new daily cases in nearly two months.

The Maine CDC said 277,098 Mainers have received their final COVID-19 vaccine dose, which represents 20.61% of the population.

Aroostook County has 9 new cases, bringing the total to 1,409.
