Update: Six Bison Remain at Large After Multiple Put Down In Caribou

Caribou, Maine (WAGM) - UPDATE: On Wednesday afternoon, the Fort Fairfield Police Department reported that they are actively collaborating with the owner of Lone Wolf Bison to locate the six bison that are still at large. This incident remains under investigation, and the authorities are coordinating with other local and state agencies and the owner to bring a resolution to the situation. As a precaution, the police urge the public to exercise caution while driving on rural roads in the area as the bison have been observed congregating on the roadway.
According to the Caribou Police Department, On Tuesday, at least 8 Bison were spotted on the Dow Siding Road and EAST PRESQUE ISLE ROAD by the Caribou Motor Inn. Craig Smith was contacted and had people come to the area and put down the bison in order to avoid any more issues that may arise toward the public. Police were not involved in the dispatching of the animals.
